Statement: |
Life is for me best lived 'out loud' but also with a ton of white-space and optional time and choice around both my career and personal and community relationships. One of my very favorite coaching/mentoring engagements over the past fourteen years of my history life-long as well as in related fields to career now has been with co-journeying personally with clients going through major, major life changes.
Most of the time they are coming out of significant change in their own life professionally that has also opened up considerable new, personal opportunity to explore and try out new options and possibilities. Sometimes they are completely re-identifying following an early-retirement (welcomed and sought or otherwise) that they now have a 'been there-done that" relationship with; sometimes they are ready to finally create what it is they ALSO always wanted to endeavor with and within - and this is their first chance to do that though they've done other things very well according to 'the public' -- they are now relieved and satisfied to have completed.
Often-times, this is their own first chance to play life full-out just with their own deck -- having now fulfilled many of life's other responsibility to family, community, and possibly to a different career(s). In short, they are now coming into their own completely differently and they are eager to reinvent.
Sometimes, they have become a grateful (or quite challenged) grandparent -- or they have thought themselves 'done' with major parenting only to have their own nest beginning to seem quite RE-filled again - unexpectedly. They need a new plan and sometimes a more expansive one than anticipated previously.
Or -- they may want to seek a completely new level of professional training for self - and are in the research and decision-process around this and would welcome some transitional bridging while in the discovery-mode. Transitions and life-transfers I do know well.
In some situations, the reinvention of them may be well under-way and they realize now that some structure, new level of focus, and possibly some directional definition is what will best serve them for the future. It's a good time to contract for a co-traveling and possibly experience set of hands and an additional head in this undertaking.
So -- from the personal perspective, I consider myself best positioned as a resource for those who are wanting to put their life together now at a level still perhaps new to them - but who bring the experience to the forefront to do this capably and who will appreciate other voices of different experience to join them in this.
I am glad to provide references on request for how this has worked for other clients I’ve made this trip with over the years. Some I still work with regularly, others revisit from time to time, but in all cases, we have also become friends, colleagues, and mutual explorers of the joys of life together.
It is my pleasure to explore options -- and I do not charge at all for this form of appointment and email-exchange to accompany to help us make best use of our 'live' phone time together. Also -- I'm based in Austin Texas USA and am always glad to meet literally "live" when that is possible, and I do travel a bit and am glad to make time when so. |

"Quote In Response to this question: "What value did you receive that you did not expect?"
I get tremendous value from the way Sherry "holds" me - she sees and always speaks to my best self - it is impossible to play small when she is around. Also, because she knows the field and all the players (see above) she sees me in context - helps me find where I fit - and where my particular gifts, strengths and passions can really make a significant contribution. I knew I would get good business mentoring. But this "reflection" she consistently mirrors for me, impacts me every day in the way I look at things, the choices I make, the risks I take. I live into the big picture she holds for me.
Also, although I knew Sherry was well connected, I had no idea how high her antenae are and how widely she scans for what is new and innovative. She collects information and people as a way of life, then stores away and catalogues valuable data that she can, thanks to technology and good organzational skills, retrieve on a dime. She's like the world wide web with a heart, with as much wisdom as knoweldge to dispense. I can't stress enough the value of this.
Another way of saying this is that she prepares the richest possible environment (think nutrient rich soil) in which to grow, and then nurtures the growth, with the amazing ability to see the fully grown plant in the seed and speak consistently to that plant. She is amazing.

"I am writing this reference for Sherry Lowry with great pleasure and honor. Please excuse me in advance if I appear to be a bit sappy. There are people in my life that have made a difference, but few who have made the profound difference in my life that Sherry has.
Quote in response to this question:
"What was the focus of your working relationship with Sherry Lowry?
Sherry and I have been working together for about 3 years. When I initially hired Sherry it was because I needed someone who was going to help me think bigger than I was thinking, to stretch me in such ways that my business would grow as a result. She has mentored and coached me through the coach certification process with the International Coach Federation (ICF), through my tenure on several boards and through growing my business in unexpected ways. Sherry is a very wise woman and her wisdom comes through in every conversation.
Question: "What value did you receive from Sherry Lowry that you expected?"
I expected she would help me think bigger than I was from a business perspective and she has. I expected that she would offer insights, advice and support with challenging coaching situations I was facing, and she has. I expected she would offer ideas, advice and brainstorming opportunities related to how I was doing business, tactical business issues and relationship issues and she has.
Question: "What value did you receive that you did not expect?"
Sherry is a supreme networker and connector. She has made introductions to me that have opened other avenues for me from a business perspective. She has introduced me to colleagues across the country that I not only call friends but with whom I maintain an ongoing long distance relationship. She has opened my eyes to my own spiritual core that I never recognized I had, not acknowledged. Sherry is a huge supporter of me and while as my coach I expected her to be the intensity and level of support and love was/is unexpected. She is able to help me see things about myself that I didn’t recognize, because of her love and support that have helped me grow and develop both personally and professionally. I didn’t expect her to become my friend.
