Coach's Statement:
My vision is to see individuals and workteams thrive. My purpose is to empower employees at all levels to realize their own agency. My orientation stems from my professional training as a clinical psychologist. I appreciate the individual's internal frame of reference & psycho-dynamic workings. However, I also tend to understand people in context as having to function, perform, deliver and collaborate within broader systems.

I have worked and consulted in the corporate environment, so I stay alert to organizational politics that also have to be navigated and sometimes negotiated. Often coaching in this setting is about assisting employees to focus and acquire the technical skills they need to advance or perform. I entered corporate mentoring & coaching training because it is an exciting form of on-the-job intervention that has almost immediate application & relevance. I enjoy this type of coaching because it is more focused and results or outcomes driven. I know that I can connect well with individuals at all levels of the organization and easily move between the strategic and the operational.

Having consulted in the corporate environment for just over 7 years means that I have been sufficiently exposed to a broad range of different situations but I am not jaded or set in my ways because I have been in this type of environment too long. I believe I also bring the enthusiasm and energy or convicsion of the public sector where I started working in 1988.
