WORK EXPERIENCE:
City of Payson
Customer Service Clerk (6/92 – 8/92)
Payson, Utah; USA
As part of the JTPA Program (Job Training Partnership Act), a federal program aimed at introducing disadvantaged / low income youth to the workforce, I took my first “real” job in the city offices of Payson, Utah. I was still in high school at the time and this was a full time job, during my summer break. I assisted the office staff with various duties including process utility payments, filing, data entry, typing, and general office tasks. At the end of my assignment, I was given a certificate for outstanding attendance and performance.
Orem Police Department, Department of Public Safety
Records Clerk (6/93 – 8/93)
Orem, Utah; USA
I again participated in the JTPA program for this full time position during my summer break of high school. I assisted the Department Secretary with filing police reports, processing finger print cards, taking notes at morning police roll call meetings, typing, data entry and general office duties. I received outstanding recommendations for my performance.
Aldrich, Nelson, Weight and Esplin, Attorneys at Law
Legal Secretary (12/93 – 6/95)
Provo, Utah; USA
I assisted 6 attorneys in a family / criminal law practice. Transcribed attorney dictation into court documents and correspondence, tracked individual cases through communication with clients, attorneys, courts and judges, and performed office duties such as filing, record keeping, typing and answering multiple phone lines.
Novell / WordPerfect Corp.
Executive Administrative Assistant, Corporate Localization Services Division (6/95 – 1/96)
Provo, Utah; USA
This was a global software company (commonly known as WordPerfect software). I directly assisted 4 Senior Managers within the Corporate Localization Services Division (the department that translates software into different languages for international customers). I processed purchase requisitions, check requests and travel reimbursements and made travel arrangements for executives, employees and clients. Distributed all department correspondence via fax and email and answered multiple phone lines.
iMALL, Inc.
Investor Relations Director (1/96 – 8/96)
Provo, Utah; USA
This was one of the first internet shopping mall portals created during the “dot com” era. I was originally hired as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO, V.P. and Treasurer of the company, but was quickly promoted to Investor Relations Director as the company’s stock went public and began to skyrocket. I was responsible for all inquiries about the company’s stock, communications with investors and stock brokers. I also wrote and distributed press releases to national publications such as the Wall Street Journal.
Morinda, Inc.
Corporate Meeting Coordinator (12/96 – 6/97)
Provo, Utah, USA
This began as a tiny company (just a few of us in the office when I began) manufacturing what is now known around the world as Noni Juice, a multi-billion dollar industry. I was originally hired as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing, but later took over the role of Corporate Meeting Coordinator. I coordinated national and international seminars and company events, wrote articles for and edited the company newsletter and other marketing publications. I also performed general office duties such as calendar maintenance, typing, filing, etc.
Varsity Gold, Inc.
(Several titles held from 1998 to 2007)
Sr. Regional Administrator (2/98 – 3/00)
Administrative Department Head (3/00 – 6/05)
Project Manager (6/05 – 1/07)
Varsity Gold is a company that assists schools and organizations with their fundraising needs. Throughout my years with the company, I served in various administrative and management roles. I was a founding member of the corporate office and was a key contributor in developing policies, procedures and organizational structure both in the corporate office and in the sales field.
I directly assisted up to 30 sales representatives at a time, implemented the incorporation of 60 national representatives as domestic corporations, assisted in hiring and training new employees and coordinated national sales meetings, travel arrangements and special events. As Administrative Department Head, I hired and managed a team of 13 Administrators. I was responsible for all managerial functions for my department and team of sales representatives.
As Project Manager, I was responsible for analyzing and improving corporate processes, systems and procedures, as well as researching and implementing new products. I created marketing and sales support tools and nurtured positive relationships with outside vendors. Under my management, one of the products I introduced to the company’s line more than tripled its sales volume after its first year on the market.
